Rolling over

We were all agog to see how the new system of weekly rolling restarts worked earlier this week. Small bites instead of huge chunks of new code, so having tested the release for a week all would be fine….(wouldn’t it?)

Well, no, actually. On Tuesday we were rolled as expected to Server version… Thursday it was…Hohum – SNAFU. I don’t know about you, but I found the first software package allowed textures to rez faster, so what was wrong? In typical SL fashion, LL haven’t muttered a word as to WHY.

Now Lil Linden is a nice bloke and actually bothers to talk to us little people, but this can’t cover up the plain fact that try as they might, most LL troubleshooters couldn’t find a bug in a Microbiology Lab.

So now we must become acclimatised to one or two days of disruption every week. Does this sound vaguely familiar to some of you older established SLers?

I’d say this is another Linden Lab waltz…Forward, forward…back, ba…sideways, crash. Oh Dear.
