Well, it is now clear that Linden Lab have no time for educators in SL. The plan to end the discounting of Land charges to such institutions is an execrable decision. For a long time it has been clear that by the time a move is announced on the blog a decision has been made a Linden Research/Lab. and nothing on Earth (Virtual or Real) will stop that decision being implemented.

When Philip Rosedale returned to the CEO post at LL, many folk lauded it as a return to interactive policy-making and common-sense (an attibute singularly lacking in Mark Kingdon). I never understood why; Rosedale never left the board of Linden Lab., so why would things change when he moved chairs?

As I have said in another place, there are intelligent people at LL who use common sense, but they are not in a position to significantly alter LL’s course.

Last night’s fiasco with the ToS window on the login page was a classic example of LL not bothering to check what effect their code would have on folk logging in on TPVs (LISTED TPVs dammnit).

The farcical condition of the Release Channel sims after the roll of revised server software was another example of incompetence. It is hard to believe that they could manage to make a poor situation worse, but they did. “Good ole’ LL”.

Could do better – MUST do better.
