New Challenges

Well, we continue to fine-tune our sim to our satisfaction, and Domina has become almost obsessive in her quest to eliminate unwanted artefacts from our terraforming. There is more to it than meets the eye and one only realises just how fickle these parameters are once one has begun to play with them.
Land texture choice is another potential minefield for the ingenue, but we’re getting there!

On a parallel but unrelated topic, I am finding my new Phoenix viewer to be just about as good as it could be, and certainly “feature-rich”. In fact there are probably more choices available than most folk could shake a stick at.

I have not succumbed to the Display Name trend, nor will I consider it until my Domina and partner can see its use. Another irritation is that Imprudence users (such as my Domina) cannot see multiple attachments properly (despite what I thought I knew); randomly (it seems) only one attachment is visible on any point, and irritatingly that is not always the initial attachment! The one(s) not seen is(are) not accessible in any way.

Still, in all other aspects one has to give praise to the Phoenix team for creating what Emerald should have been, had it not been for Phox’s selfishness. Whether Firestorm (the v2 development) will be as good remains to be seen. I am inclined to believe that you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. That said Viewer 1.23 wasn’t a particularly fine piece of hardware either, but via Snowglobe and Phoenix it has realised a fine potential. We shall see. It seems that KirstenLee Cinquetti’s v2 derivative is pretty good, so there’s hope.
