The sorry tale of SVC-6766…Is There Light at the End of the Tunnel?

The above JIRA number is the one raised by Jessica Lyon with regard to the latest bug to plague SL clients. That it was introduced in a server software change prior to the Feb 7th week restarts seems clear now, but it certainly seemed to take-off following that roll.
It is proving very difficult to track down, but finally, after a good deal of goading, Maestro Linden did post post an update to the thread yesterday.
I think it is finally percolating through to some members of Linden Lab that communicating with us is a VERY GOOD IDEA, even when the news isn’t wonderful. The software from the previous week’s Magnum RC channel was rolled to the Main Server set, and this version, for whatever reason, seems less buggy.
The fact that Maestro admitted that the bug was proving hard to trace was, at last, a sensible comment from LL. Most of us, while being infuriated by the senseless decisions made in the Linden Lab Ivory Tower, are at least placated by being kept informed of what is being done, even when there is little good news to impart.

For now we must wait and see, but maybe there is light?
